HCC S.O.A.R. program aims to accelerate local business growth
This summer, Houston City College is launching S.O.A.R., a new 10‑week, AI‑powered accelerator designed to help early‑stage businesses grow faster, operate smarter, and compete in a rapidly changing marketplace. The program—hosted at the HCC Central Campus Center for Entrepreneurship—is set to start next month. It is seeking participants from across Houston, Pearland and surrounding communities.

When Marisabel Morales sent her model down the runway at the 10th annual Fashion Fusion competition at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, she made history. Morales, a student in HCC's award-winning Fashion Design program, became the first student to construct a fully 3D-printed gown––and the only designer at “Fashion Fusion X” to present a garment created entirely through 3D printing. The show on Jan. 30 paid tribute to the legendary artist Frida Kahlo.

Roche, a 47-year-old HCC Fashion Design student, originally from Queens, New York, used to buy clothing and dress like the famous artist in different phases of her life.
